A STUDY ON THE EFFICACY OF FERMENTED MILK FOR HEALTH IN KOREAN

Abstract
The author intended to observation on the efficacy of fermented milk for health in Korean, during the four years from 1978 to 1981.
It is hoped that the information will be use for reference in future endeavors of study in the field of -public health and nutritional science in Korea.
The information obtained is as follows:
(1) Production and consumption amounts of fermented milk was 98, 084 M/T in the year of 1980 represents a 435% increase compare with that of 1976.
¢¥(2) The age level of the fermented milk drinkers was 41.3 -5.8%a in childhood group: 23.7+_3.2% in elementary school students group: 6.8=3.0% secondary school students group: 12.5¡¾1.9% in youth group:. 8.6¡¾1.9% in manhood group and 7.4, _1.66% in the well-advanced age group.?(3) Efficacy rate (%) of fermented milk after drink for health were care of constipation or diarrhea
in 35.5¡¾5.5%: appetite and easy to digest in 35.7_4.9%: prevention of food poisoning in ¢¥8.7¡¾2.7% .and growth effects of childhood in 8.8-22.4%, respectively.
